Nick Ragg

Nick Ragg is both a Physiotherapist and Strength and Conditioning coach. Holding a Doctor of Physiotherapy and Bachelor of Sport and Exercise Science. He relocated to Melbourne in early 2023 to pursue his dream of becoming a Sports Physiotherapist. Nick currently works as the Lead Physiotherapist at Western United FC (A-League Women’s) where he manages multiple rehabilitation and performance programs and develops proactive strategies to manage and prevent injuries.

Nick has previously worked with the Wellington Hurricanes Rugby Union Club, Diamond Valley NBL1, Powerhouse Rugby Union, Oakleigh Cannons FC, and Edithvale Aspendale FNC.

Nick adopts a hands-on approach to physiotherapy, blending his deep clinical expertise with a strong emphasis on patient education. He believes that empowering clients with knowledge about their injuries, rehabilitation pathways, and performance strategies leads to better long-term outcomes. His goal is to ensure that each individual not only recovers but also understands how to prevent future injuries and optimize their movement.

With a particular passion for lower limb injuries, Nick has developed extensive expertise in managing ACL injuries, from pre-surgical preparation to post-operative rehabilitation and return-to-sport protocols. He works closely with athletes and active individuals, applying evidence-based strategies to accelerate recovery while minimizing re-injury risks. His experience in elite sporting environments allows him to tailor rehabilitation programs that align with the unique demands of various sports and activities.

Nick takes a holistic and individualized approach to care, recognizing that every patient has a unique background, personality, strengths, and lifestyle. He carefully considers these factors when designing treatment plans, ensuring they are not only effective but also engaging and sustainable for the long term. He integrates manual therapy, exercise rehabilitation, and strength and conditioning principles to support both recovery and athletic performance.
